Be the Hero of Your Own Story
Whether that's in a standard TTRPG or in one of our special game partnerships. Either way, there will be tailor-made adventures run by a professional Game Master so you can learn the basics of TTRPGs and confidently get to playing as fast as possible!
We partner with therapists and mental health skill building professionals for some of our sessions. These partnerships allow players to target the development of specific social-emotional skills while we are playing games.

Example of Gameplay:
The GM asks: "The goblin runs at you with his spear raised - what do you do?" Players will then have the opportunity to describe how their character reacts - "I shout at him to stop!" or "I raise my shield and ready my sword." Dice will then be rolled to determine the relative success of the Player's actions.
What is a TTRPG?
TTRPG = Tabletop Roleplaying Game
[the most popular involves dungeons and sometimes also dragons]Â
TTRPGs are game systems designed for a group of people to tell stories together. One person at the table will be a Game Master (GM), who serves as a referee, narrator, and actor for the less important characters in the story. The most important characters, our heroes, are played by the Players. The Players will learn to create and make decisions for their heroes, shaping the world the GM has created in important ways.
Another Example:Â
"You look at Duke Alistair and see a bead of sweat roll down his face. Because of how high you rolled on your insight check, I will tell you that he is 100% lying to you. The tricky thing is...you have no idea why. What's going through your character's head?"
Parents: Why Your Kid Will Benefit
Support your teen with a structured, supervised game night that grows teamwork, problem-solving, and real-world social skills.

Does your child spend a lot of time playing video games, watching TV, or scrolling through social media? While these activities can be helpful for relaxing, they often do not increase the amount of meaningful time a person spends with others. Playing TTRPGs does. Your child will be in a setting where they get to interact with peers, build stronger connections and social skills, and make some great memories!Â

My greatest wish for this program is that it will empower your children to create their own groups, make their own friends, and feel more confident in their social ability.Â

Why Owlbear Adventures?
Finding quality tabletop gaming groups for young people is difficult due to a shortage of experienced Game Masters. Most public sessions are adult-oriented, leaving youth with few spaces solely for them to explore the hobby. Owlbear Adventures solves this by providing professional, youth-focused gaming groups led by an expert facilitator. We handle all the complex preparation and supplies; all your child needs is a readiness to show up and play.
If your child is struggling with their mental health, we also collaborate with mental health workers to provide games to help them learn social-emotional skills.
Skills that playing TTRPGs teaches: collaboration, teamwork, compromising, accepting failure, celebrating others' wins, advocating for oneself, and the list goes on!
